Creative Tributes by Nature’s Steps Preschool

In a touching display of creativity and respect, children at Nature’s Steps Preschool crafted a rustic Spitfire model and handmade stick-and-wool crosses for their Remembrance Day display. These projects allowed the young participants to engage with history in a meaningful way, honouring the bravery of the fallen while expressing their appreciation through art. Such activities instil values of gratitude and remembrance in the next generation, ensuring the stories of sacrifice are never forgotten.

Each room at First Steps Cornwall designed their own unique wreaths as part of their commemoration efforts. These colourful and heartfelt creations reflected the children’s understanding and respect for the occasion. On Monday the 11th we visited St Columb Minor Church, where each room laid their handmade wreaths and Nature Steps Spitfire as symbols of remembrance. Participating in the two-minute silence and listening to the poignant strains of The Last Post music, the children and staff honoured the sacrifices made by soldiers and animals, fostering a deep sense of connection to this historical tradition.
