Down at Porth beach in Newquay, the children from First Steps Pre-school, embark on a sensory adventure, their small hands eagerly exploring the diverse textures beneath their feet. The soft, powdery sand invites their toes to sink in, leaving behind imprints of their playful dance. As they venture closer to the water’s edge, the sand transforms, becoming wet and compact, molding easily into castles and sculptures.
Their curious fingers trace the jagged edges of seashells scattered along the shore, marveling at the smoothness of some and the rough ridges of others. Each discovery ignites a spark of wonder, as they compare the roughness of a piece of driftwood to the smoothness of a polished stone.
With every step, they encounter new sensations: the tickle of foamy waves washing over their feet, the coolness of wet sand squishing between their toes, and the warmth of the sun-kissed grains beneath their palms. Through these tactile experiences, they paint a vivid portrait of the beach, capturing its essence not just in sight and sound, but in the rich tapestry of textures that define this magical playground by the sea.
Our Pre-school children have thoroughly enjoyed their experience today and have been eager to go back to nursery and tell all their friends. The free Government Funding now enables all children to benefit from nursery education which helps build resilient young people to help build our future.
